Our Center

PenNSAM brings together the resources of the University of Pennsylvania and The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) to create a uniquely resourced center for the advanced study of human nutrition. Our expertise encompasses a broad range of disciplines from psychiatry, neuroscience and medicine, to immunology, biochemistry, and bioinformatics. Our capabilities and resources equip us to employ a holistic ‘omics’ approach using genomics, proteomics and metabolomics combined with immune profiling, to further understanding of the impact of nutrition on human health.

High throughput analytic technologies, together with systems biology, will allow for modeling of the complexity of the human biological response to diet and nutrition.
